The A40 motorway which connects Macon and the Saône Valley to Geneva also efficiently serves the northern part of Bugey. The southern part is served by the A43 motorway which connects Lyon to Chambéry. The state road RN 504 is currently undergoing an important modification program (skirting of villages, overtaking zones ) and serves the region following a north-west/south-east diagonal. The TGV rail stations of Culoz, Bellegarde-sur-Valserine, Bourg-en-Bresse, Aix-les-Bains, Chambéry and Lyon-Saint-Exupéry serve the Bugey region making it even more accessible. The two international airports, Geneva-Cointrin and Lyon-Saint-Exupéry at an hours distance open the region to all destinations. .
